New GCSE Maths Course

The new GCSE Maths course is going to be examined for the first time at the end of this academic year. The course has changed quite considerably in comparison to previous GCSE Maths course updates. With new topics that have previously been seen in AS level Maths, new exam structure and grading system it is going to be an uncertain first year for many Maths teachers. At York Maths Tutor, all of our tutors have researched the changes in depth and are confident in delivering high quality GCSE Maths tuition based on the new syllabus.

Other changes that students should be aware are the new grading system which is now 1-9 with 9 effectively being a grade above the current A*. Additionally a significant point to note is that there will no longer be formula sheets given in the exams which means students will have to memorise an additional 20 or more formulas. Again our Maths tutors are aware of this and will help students with the additional learning of formulas and will help our pupils to overcome the new challenges presented by the new GCSE Maths course.

The York Maths Tutor blog helps to keep students, parents and tutors updated with changes to the Maths curriculum as well as the York Maths Tutor service
